Zirconium is used in aerospace and high-performance industries due to its combination of low friction, high wear resistance, and chemical stability. The coating reduces friction between the chain and sprocket, resulting in more efficient power transfer and smoother operation. The hard, dense surface resists abrasion from sand, mud, and dirt, and offers better corrosion protection than traditional coatings. Reduced friction and more even wear not only extend the lifespan of the rear sprocket, but also reduce wear on the chain and front sprocket. Zirconium withstands high loads, heat, and impacts without losing its properties—making it ideal for demanding MX and enduro riding. The coating enables a lightweight construction with strength that surpasses many heavier alternatives.
